Swaziland Action Group Against Abuse (SWAGAA)
SWAGAA invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of:
Groundsman
SWAGAA is a national NGO committed to the prevention of abuse and the promotion of peace, justice and human dignity. We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Groundsman to maintain the cleanliness, safety and overall appearance of our premises.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification of Form 5/Grade 12 or equivalent would be an advantage
- Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, cleaning, and general grounds maintenance is preferred
- Ability to operate and maintain basic gardening equipment, including lawnmowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers, and other gardening tools
- Knowledge of basic gardening, landscaping, grass cutting, pruning, and tree maintenance
- Ability to perform general maintenance and minor repairs
- Physically fit and able to perform manual work and work outdoors in different weather conditions
- Good time-management and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained working environment
- Must be trustworthy, reliable, punctual and responsible
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A valid driver’s license is a requirement
- Basic knowledge of vehicle care and routine checks, including checking oil, water, tyres, and reporting mechanical problems
- Willingness to perform occasional errands, deliveries, and transportation of staff or materials when required
- A police clearance/clean criminal record may be required
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Basic handyman and general maintenance skills
- Experience working in a school, office, farm, hotel, government institution, NGO, or similar environment
